UK show creator Nick Fisher posed a unique challenge: he wanted to sell an American version of his BBC Two series with the added condition that he create and write the pilot prototype.

Quinn Media Management coached Fisher on the intricacies of the Los Angeles market, developed a hit list of studios and networks, which led three days of pitch meetings. ABC Studios expressed interest and made an offer that would allow him to write the pilot for ABC.

When this version of the show did not end up moving forward, we later made a deal for Fisher and the format with Sony Pictures Television, and added Darren Star (Sex and the City) as showrunner and executive producer. This pilot was produced with Showtime.

After spending 20 years building a profitable international company, Janice Bryant Howard approached Quinn Media Management for help in becoming an on-camera personality in a competitive, crowded media environment.

Along with Act One’s marketing director and a team of television industry veterans, QMM trained Janice for interviews and presentations to establish her credibility. An award-winning team produced several sample videos and a demonstration reel, which we sent to producers and networks.

Following our professional packaging, Janice met with top executives at Fox, CBS Paramount, Telepictures, KCET, and NBC Universal, and appeared on programs including The Tyra Banks Show and The BET Awards. 

Her first book, a self-help guide, will be published in early 2010.

Philip Morrow, Managing Director of Wild Rover Productions in Belfast produced a competition/adventure pilot, which was then passed on by the U.K. broadcaster.  He wanted to produce a U.S. version of this format for a major network.

 

Quinn Media Management developed a strategy to expose the U.K. show to key production companies.  In the fall of 2009, they created a target list of nine A+ production companies for pitch meetings.  As a result of the sales presentation and sizzle reel, the meetings generated offers from four possible production partners for Wild Rover.  Producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Bertram van Munster were attached for the development and production of TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN, which premieres on ABC in the Summer of 2011. Wild Rover's SECRET FORTUNE format is being piloted for CBS with Nigel Lythgoe and Big Red 2 Entertainment.
